adsquare Announces Collaboration With OpenLocate Initiative For A Transparent Future Of Location Data

We are extremely proud to announce our collaboration with the open source location SDK OpenLocate – an initiative supported by developers, non-profits, trade groups and industry leaders, including our partners from SafeGraph. The solution allows mobile application developers to collect mobile location data in a transparent way. As a trusted partner, adsquare shares the main objective of OpenLocate to let developers maintain full control of how their end-user data is collected, stored and managed.

When collecting location data within apps, developers need to put a huge amount of effort into enabling location data collection in a battery efficient manner. Industry leaders, along with adsquare have put their collective knowledge, efforts and expertise together to solve this problem by building an open source SDK. As veterans in effectively managing mobile location data, which we have always seen as key to powering programmatic advertising campaigns, we are extremely excited to be part of this collaboration.

“It has never been easier for app publishers to collect and monetize mobile location data in such an easy and transparent way. OpenLocate follows the principles of the open source software movement meaning that developers can see, improve, fork or add features to the source code” – comments our CTO and Co-Founder Fritz Richter. By providing it’s own endpoint, adsquare enables developers to define adsquare as a destination partner directly through the OpenLocate SDK. App publishers onboard their 1st party location data to the adsquare platform, where it is enriched and segmented using adsquare’s vast offline data assets including places, household, purchase, event and telco data. The enriched data can be provided back to the data owner or monetized through adsquare’s mobile first data exchange.

Tom Laband, CEO & Co-Founder of adsquare adds: “At the heart of our platform is our strong belief that since data is transforming the world, we have the responsibility to create an environment where collaboration, inclusion and sustainability flourish in a way that empowers all stakeholders. For this to happen we have proven our dedication by becoming leading industry experts in selecting and curating high quality data, bringing together billions of data points, available to buyers and sellers of data in a fair, secure and privacy-friendly way.”
