adsquare Supports 'Refugees on Rails'

2015-09-02-1441197610-9041596-refugeesonrails-thumb (1)From a company point of view and the individuals that work here, we’re proud to support Refugees on Rails. The Berlin-born company aims to support refugees with technology. With an abundance of unused laptops in households, their idea is to donate these to refugees to ensure their valuable skills don’t go to waste, and encourage people to find a path in the startup community and software development.

Refugees are too often seen only as a problem within Europe. We want to prove that our new neighbors offer an opportunity for Europe to enrich its culture and empower its economy. We believe that every human being has the right to live up to their potential and to improve themselves. Our aim is to help refugees to build and expand their qualification as software developers and provide them the opportunity to work with startups and tech companies. We do this by creating a coding school.” – Refugees on Rails.

With dmexco just around the corner and adsquare, Remerge & Smaato‘s PREmexco networking event coming up, we wanted to use the opportunity to support this cause. That’s why at our sold out PREmexco event in Cologne next Tuesday we’re welcoming cash donations for Refugees on Rails. Rather than ask you to lug your old laptops to Cologne, we’d love to donate any spare euros to help nurture future talent in tech! So bring your change.

For those of you with old laptops, they’ll even come and pick them up – Check out their website and the great team behind Refugees on Rails here.
